Are You Perfect?

Are You Perfect?

The quick answer is No! No one is, but the world spends its time trying to look perfect. My guess is to make up for the imperfections they cannot fix, but then again, who can say what's imperfect or perfect? There has only been one perfect being to ever walk this earth, and His name is Jesus.

What is perfection? Is it establishing the perfect look? Is reaching perfection merely in an outfit, or is it also in our behavior and speech? Is it in the decisions we make or how we raise our children? Most say perfection is subjective, influenced by a person's feelings, tastes, or opinions. For instants, I met a man who may not be perfect, but he is ideal for me. I tend to agree with that statement. To the world, a person may not be perfect, but to me, their imperfections are precisely what makes them perfect. Perfection is impossible to reach because there are so many different opinions of what it means to be perfect.

The word of God tells us to be perfect but translated, it is not about human perfection, for that is impossible. People spend millions upon millions of dollars on a perfect look, dress, and plastic surgery and are never satisfied. No, the Bible speaks of Spiritual Maturity. One Scripture said When I was a child, I thought as a child now that I am a man, I put away childish things (1 Corinthians 13:11). I'm paraphrasing.

Spiritually Maturity is the act of developing a relationship with God and His spirit directing you in your journey of growth. To prosper in life, we must grow with God to reach the very highest of what this life and the next can offer us. You begin to understand things you didn't know as a child and accept the things that only God can change. It's not just about the material stuff anymore but peace amid chaos and Joy amid sorrow. God grants us these things, but as we grow, we understand the importance of obtaining them and keeping them.

The word says we will not reach perfection until we reach Glory. However, we get perfection every time we inhabit the characteristics of God. It is through Him we are perfected. When we Love like Him, Give like Him. Show humility and faithfulness. When we pray for others and when we witness Christ. These are moments of perfection. That's why we are not perfect, but Close. Through Christ, we were perfected at the cross, and every time we act like Jesus' we experience perfection until we reach the end and experience His glorious perfection in us.
